Four Generations

By Felicia, Installed 2023

“The Four Generations was inspired by a visit to the Taos Pueblo in Taos New Mexico. It was an awareness of the people – it made sense to sculpt them, after all they are the original people of our continent, they started it all for us – they should not be forgotten. This bronze depicts the Mother, Grandma, and the children of their Taos Pueblo village. I work with a dazzle of Turquoise, hand painted beads, touches of high polish, with different acid washes, known as patinas, I keep my designs as simplistic as possible, which has been a signature of mine for over 34 years.”

Felicia is a nationally noted, award-winning sculptress, specializing in miniature to monumental work. Most of her bronzes depict the Native American female, which is expressed in sensuous curves, tension of emotion, with minimal forms. They reflect the spirit and richness of the mystical Southwest.

“I portray the Native American because they are the original inhabitants of our continent, they should not be forgotten. I try to capture these likenesses with simplicity and elegance.”
