Rotund sculpture

Malpiede McNulty is a native of Colorado and has been a professional artist for over twenty years. She began her career working In terracotta and bronze figurative sculptures. She was honored to be commissioned by Loveland High Plains Arts Council to sculpt Rotund for permanent installation in Benson Sculpture Garden in 2005.

In recent years she has worked with copper fiber. Her Serenity Vessels are inspired by the copper-colored windswept canyons of the southwestern United States. The irregular, asymmetrical lines of her vessels are reminiscent of the layered sandstone formations found along canyon walls carved by centuries of wind. The term “Serenity Vessel” comes from feeling the timeless sense of peace experienced when viewing the canyons.
