Cowboys and wildlife are favorite subjects of painter and sculptor, Curtis Zabel. Born in Kansas, Curtis moved to northwest Colorado when he was two years old. his grade school teacher.

Curtis has been painting since high school and began sculpting in 1972. Although he had no formal art training, he has spent a lifetime observing and studying the things he loves to paint and sculpt. With a new studio built on the Zabel ranch, he now devotes all of his time to sculpture. Curtis’ work can be found in collections the United States and abroad.
